Here is the resume of Jane Eyre; and I want to remind you that there might be some items in this resume that will spoil the book for you. So if you want to read the book, I suggest you read the review instead.

Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre, a young orphan of 10 years old, hates her aunt, and vice versa. She lives with her and her 3 cousins after her blood relative uncle dies. When she confronts her aunt, saying she hates her, she sends Jane to Lowood Estate, an orphan school. She makes friends with Helen Burns, who dies of the disease going around the first year. She stays for 8 years; 6 years as a pupil and 2 as a teacher. But Jane gets bored of the routine and the pay, and advertises. She gets a reply by Ms. Fairfax, saying she needed a teacher for Adele, a little girl from a French country. She accepts, and sets out for Thornfield. As she arrives, she understands that the house belongs to a certain Mr. Rochester and that he is coming for a little visit. Jane, being pale and weak all her life, finds something joyful in Mr. Rochester. She soon learns that he is the supposed father of Adele, because he had an interaction with her mother. Soon, Mr. Rochester goes out of town, and comes back with guests to stay at his chateau. But during the night, after a certain Mr. Mason comes and joins the party, he is brutally attacked by some thing upstairs, and Jane is urged to take care of him until the doctor came. Then, she got a letter from Gateshead, saying that Ms. Reed was on the verge of death and wanted to see her. Jane left, intending to stay for a week, but ended up staying a month. When she comes back, she found Mr. Rochester writing outside. He then asked her to marry him and she said yes. But at the wedding, she finds out that he is already married, and that his wife lives in the house. After this discovery, she decides to leave secretly. She sneaks out and gets to Whitcross. She roams around for 2 days, she finally gets accepted into a house in the woods with Diana, Mary and St. John. After a few weeks, their uncle died, and they decided to leave the house. St. John asked Jane if she would like to come with him to be a school mistress at his new girl's school, and she agrees. After a few months, the school closes for the holidays and St. John finds out that he is related to Jane, and that she was left 20 thousand pounds. But Jane isn't selfish. So she split it equally with her cousins, which is 5 thousand pounds each. After that, St. John asks her if she would go to India with him, on one condition; she would marry him. Of course, she says no, and decides to go see what has become of Mr. Rochester. She finds out that the house has been ruined by a fire. He helped all the servants out, and when he went back for his wife, she jumped off the roof and died. And Mr. Rochester? Since he stayed to help everyone, he lost his hand, and became blind. But Jane doesn't care. She married anyway.
